"Upon learning we were going through our third mid-life crisis everyone told us we were mad building a new home. Everyone told us: "they (builders) tell you a price for the footings and then hit you with an additional fee of $20-$30K,” they moaned. “It’s how builders make their money.” Obviously, they had not met Tim and Sharyn Phillips. Never in our lives have we made such a big decision and immediately felt a profound feeling of trust. For the record, Tim explained in simple terms based on soil and contour reports, there was no reason to add one extra cent to the cost of the footings; such is their word. Ultimately, it all gets down to building within your budget and having your house built to the best of everyone’s ability. The mere fact that most of the Phillips Builders’ contractors had their own house built by them, and others called upon them for renovations, says it all. When we went to nominated suppliers for selections, every one of them said: “Oh, you’re lucky; you’re building with Tim Phillips.” They say Rome wasn’t built in a day, but it would have been built like our home – on schedule and within the agreed price structure – had Tim been around in those days. Tim and Sharyn are remarkable people who actually care for your home. We could not thank them enough for their honesty, commitment and professionalism. Thank goodness; integrity still exists."
